This year, the border fabric has been made slightly thinner.
Last year was around 9 oz, while this year is around 6 oz.

The yarn used for knitting is the same, but for the knitting needles, last year we used "double-ply = two threads together," but this year's fabric uses a single thread.

Last year, TCB's custom order was made with this thinner version of the fabric.

I'm stubborn, so I used thick fabric thinking, "A border shirt? Agnes B and Saint James both use super heavy ounce fabric, so a border shirt has to be heavy ounce!!!"

However, when I saw TCB's Inoue-kun wearing a short-sleeved border shirt looking cool even in summer, I thought, "That looks nice~."
Indeed, 6 oz is the thickness of a typical T-shirt. It can be worn alone in midsummer.

Considering the colors, I thought, "It might be good to have a tricolor by wrapping the neck in a different color than the body."
I decided, "Alright, let's do some market research!" and went to check out U in the world and M in Japan... but there were no border shirts with a bound neck (wrapped with ribbing). Almost all of them had "attached collars," which are self-stitched + topstitched around the neckline. Attached collars make it easier for the "head to pass through and the collar to conform to the neck." For bound collars, you have to consider the stretch and shrinkage of the fabric, draft the neckline pattern, make a sample, then draft again, make another sample...

WORKERS also hasn't changed its fabrics much in the past few years, so the fit of the bound collars has become very stable, thanks to these "many samples." (Also thanks to the fabric manufacturers and sewing factories that produce fabrics with stable physical properties.)

The market research was a bust, so I went all out with my personal preferences in choosing colors, and this is what happened. Too many colors!
My third-rate merchandising skills are on display again. My feelings take precedence over merchandising.

The label is WORKERS' trademark, a cat patch & cat print name.
This year, it's again made by Mr. Okada Name, our father in Okayama. Since the fabric is thinner, it's easier to use as an inner layer. In early spring, wear it under a denim jacket or coverall.

What I like is to wear a long-sleeved T-shirt under a button-down or band-collar shirt and use the shirt like a jacket.
I also think it would look good with this season's swing top.

The above is reprinted from the WORKERS official website.

The fabric is thin and smooth, and feels good to the touch. It's an item that seems like it would keep you cool even in midsummer. The long sleeves also protect you from harsh sunlight.
