A new color, Paw Stripe, will be released for the Cathartt Chore Coat made with heart buttons. The heart stripe from Vintage Carhartt is mixed with the TCB-like Cats Paw, and the finished garment is classic and cool. But when you look closely, it is cute, creating a Chore Coat with two sides.

This fabric was made by Sanyo Senko Co., Ltd. in my hometown of Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture. When I was a boy, I used to go to a game center in the neighborhood, but I had no idea that there was a company with such interesting technology so close by.

After indigo dyeing using a continuous dyeing machine, which is rare in Japan, that can dye raw fabric indigo, the fabric is dyed with indigo, and then a process called dye-discharge printing is carried out, in which a discharge agent is applied with a cylinder to remove the color, and then a beige color is applied to the fabric. Since beige is applied to the white heart pattern, the finished product has a slightly blurred heart shape.

You may come across vintage wabash fabric with blurred edges, but as these blocks are used, the corners and edges of the discharge print will become softer and eventually the block will need to be replaced.

This time, the wabash specially ordered by TCB may look a bit flashy with the outline of the heart and paws being too clear. However, the expression is slightly absent-minded from the beginning, so I hope you will find this to be a cool and cute point.

At first glance, it looks cheap, but it's actually a time-consuming process.

After making it and even touring the factory, I wondered if Stifel's method of making fabric was too time-consuming and eventually disappeared. I can only be grateful to Sanyo Dyeing Co., Ltd. for being able to make it the same way today, and although I hesitated to print on the back of the fabric because of the cost, I was itching to get it printed on the back, and in the end, I got carried away and there's a cat instead of Boots. It doesn't matter once you wear it, but you see it every time you wear it. That may be one of the charms of this fabric. *Stifel is an American textile company that developed Wabash fabric. On the back of Stifel's fabric, there is a logo with the company name Stifel written in a pattern shaped like boots.

Like the denim, the details of the Chore Coat itself are based on vintage Carhartt designs from the 1940s and 1950s, but we have also taken inspiration from a variety of sources to create a 1920s feel with the MASTER CLOTH name, heart buttons and period details.

For example, the details below are typical of the 1920s.

Square collar with a cut in the middle Eyelet-attached change button

Adjustable first button and cuffs

Set-in sleeve

The low sleeves are also reproduced in TWO CATS BLOUSE.

■Notes Both the front buttons and cufflinks are change buttons. They are less durable than regular buttons, so we recommend removing the buttons when washing. In the event of damage or loss, we have buttons in stock, but please understand that replacements will be available at a cost.

The above is an excerpt from the TCB official online store.

This Carverall has a boxy silhouette and is just the right thickness to throw on without looking flashy.

You don't need such heavy outerwear, but you'll want to put something on. It looks like the temperatures will continue like this.
