Re-penned cotton is cotton that is restored from its compressed state in a maturation room where the temperature and humidity are controlled to be close to the conditions in which the cotton was grown, allowing it to slowly repair itself over time.
Unlike cotton that has been unraveled using machines, the cotton regains its original softness without being damaged, so even when made into jersey fabric it is fluffy and soft, sturdy and moist to the touch.
