Heavyweight cotton jacket with checkered stripes. Made from Paraca, a rope-dyed indigo fabric. Adjustable back straps. Copper rivets. Custom-made iron laurel buttons. One chest pocket. Unlined. One-wash.
The above is reprinted from the G&F Co. website.
PALAKA fabric has a checkered striped pattern that was popular among Japanese immigrant workers on plantations and other places in the 1920s.
The colors and patterns are similar to kasuri, so Japanese people at the time may have felt nostalgic about them.
Since it is made of indigo, the color will fade gradually. You can use it as work clothes where dirt won't be noticeable, or you can wear it with white denim for a refreshing look.
The buttons on this jacket are iron donut buttons made by our shop.
Iron donut buttons do exist, but usually only the top part is made of iron, or the entire button is coated to prevent rust during storage.
This chair is made entirely of iron, including the legs, and the coating to prevent rust during storage has been barrel-processed and peeled off. This means that it will oxidize and rust rapidly. Enjoy watching it change over time as the rust from the buttons seeps into the fabric, while daydreaming about the atmosphere of the time.
