A lightweight summer jacket that I've been making for the past few years.

Coveralls, tailored, forestieres.

I made a variety of things and this year I made a coverall type.

When I was thinking about what model to use, I remembered the P-47.

I made this USMC 3-pocket coverall once in Spring/Summer 2023. When I made it, I thought it was plain, but when I actually tried it on, I really liked it. It's easy to wear anytime, and when you close the collar up, it looks like workwear. If you open it, it looks a bit tailored.

One thing that bothered me when wearing it was the metal buttons. Of course, that is what makes it a P-47, but if the buttons were made with thread and were flatter, they would get caught less and it would be a more "normal, comfortable jacket." So this time, we changed the buttons to flat, four-hole buttons.

The shape is the same as the P-47 I made last time, with three patches + an inner pocket.

The cuffs are different from the original used ones, with cuffs and openings. In summer, you may want to roll up your sleeves a little. The material is linen cotton, just over 6 ounces.

Until last year, I used 100% linen, but this year, the price of 100% linen has gone up too much due to the exchange rate. I was in a difficult position, and the fabric store made this fabric for me by saying, "I tried changing the weft thread to cotton." In order to keep costs down, the fabric is a little sturdier than 100% linen, but it's still good! I'm impressed that necessity is the mother of invention.
