For long-time WORKERS customers, the long-awaited tool bag is back!

Body: No. 4 Canvas / approx. 23.5 oz
Bottom: No. 6 Canvas / approx. 19 oz

Size
Width at base approx. 31 cm, height 30 cm, depth 18 cm.
The width tapers upwards, so the opening is a maximum of approx. 40 cm.

Handle length
Short: 25 cm
Long: 60 cm (shoulder length)

One outer pocket on one side.

At first glance, it looks the same as the one we made before, but...
The fabric, factory, sewing thread, label, and tape are all different.

The body is made from No. 4 canvas. We intentionally chose fabric without selvage. This is because previously, we were so particular about selvage that it could "only be made at this specific weaving factory." In fact, that original factory has since gone out of business.

This time, the premise was that "the fabric can be sourced stably, not relying on selvage." On top of that, we aimed for something even better than selvage.

The problem then was the sides. If we don't use selvage, we can only "fold" or "overlock and sew." Folding and sewing is naturally neater, but the sewing difficulty is vastly higher.

So, after a long search, we found a factory in the town next to my father's hometown. The president there loves sewing machines and sewing guides, so we hit it off. Because of that, I can confidently rely on them. (Though the labor cost is quite high.)

The folded parts on the sides act as a skeleton, allowing the bag to stand upright even when empty. After all, a tote bag is much easier to use when it can stand on its own.

The bottom is No. 6 canvas. The seam in the middle adds a design accent. Originally, with narrower fabric, we deliberately left a design element that used selvage for the triangular parts (I was told, "It's tough and hard! It'll cost more in labor!").

The sewing thread is thick polyester. It's surface-coated to prevent untwisting.

The label also looks the same as before at first glance. But whereas before it was printed on sheeting, this time it's printed on coated fabric. The pattern appears much sharper.

For the tape, after a long search, we found a producer. As soon as we went and talked to them, they told us about a "cotton spun-yarn power loom tape," which is incredibly stiff and thick. Tapes of this same width can be made on both power looms and other weaving machines, but power loom tapes are particularly thick. However, productivity is poor, and if there's no stock, there's a very long wait. But this tape is worth waiting for. WORKERS has even ordered a larger quantity for stock. (Currently, black dyeing is also in production.)

Meeting a new factory means it's different from before. We aimed for the highest quality currently achievable.

The long-awaited return of the tool bag!

I've been using the old model for many years, and other than the handles getting worn out, there have been no problems at all.

I've also repaired several handles for customers who cherish their bags. It's a bag you want to keep using, even if it needs repairs.

Of course, the detailed specifications are different from the old model, but the actual product that arrived this time can definitely be used as a tough tool bag.

Sturdy fabric, stitching with thick thread, rugged handles. "Yes, this is it!" I couldn't help but smile.

It's also a very easy-to-use bag in terms of size. I immediately started using it to carry my laptop, documents, patterns, in-progress samples, and all sorts of other things I inexplicably carry around every day!
