This cap is inspired by the caps worn as uniforms by railway workers and mechanics.

It is a hat designed with the functionality of the era in mind, allowing for ease of work, with a seam allowance between the brim and the body to make it easier to flip up the brim when worn.

The crown is made up of six panels in a crazy pattern, and the stitching is reinforced with chain stitching, commonly used in denim and painter pants.

The body is made of cotton-linen prepera fabric.
It has a refreshing texture with a coarse weave and a textured surface.

It features a design with an adjustable size tape on the inside, and is available in 3 sizes with an adjustment function.

Spiral Comment

It's a work cap, yet it feels somewhat cool.

Although this C/L PREPERA RAILROAD CAP has its roots in caps worn by railway workers and mechanics, it doesn't have the heavy, "workwear" impression.

The reason for this is, of course, the fabric.

The prepera fabric, made of 70% cotton and 30% linen, is coarse enough that the weave is clearly visible up close.

The surface of the fabric has subtle irregularities, giving it a dry, light appearance that is distinctly different from ordinary cotton twill or denim caps.

With this fabric, it seems like it could be used for a long time, not only in spring and summer, but also into early autumn when the heat still lingers.

The shape is 6-panel, but a closer look reveals a crazy pattern where the panels are not uniformly cut.

Furthermore, the seams use chain stitching, often seen in work pants and other items.

From a distance, it's simple.

Up close, it's quite elaborate.

This balance might be just right for everyday use.

And personally, I love the brim.

You can wear it straight forward, but if you wear it slightly flipped up, it instantly takes on the look of an old work cap.

It's good with simple summer styles like T-shirts with military pants or denim, and of course, with work shirts or coveralls.

What is Prepera?

Prepera is a woven fabric that creates a rough, uneven surface through the use of threads of different thicknesses and weaving methods.

The one used here is cotton-linen prepera, made of 70% cotton and 30% linen.

Looking closely at the photos, you can see a three-dimensional weave with fine gaps, unlike typical plain weave or twill.

This coarse structure reduces the contact area with the skin, resulting in a cool and dry texture in appearance.

Furthermore, by blending 30% linen, it adds a refreshing feel and unique material texture that is difficult to achieve with cotton alone.

When touched, it feels smooth and soft. As the fabric becomes accustomed to use, it transforms from its new state into an even softer, more supple texture, which is a unique pleasure of natural fibers.
