LOOP＆WEFT_LCS1003_SINKER SUPER FLUFFY KNIT DOUBLE V SWEATSHIRT_MAPLE BROWN

The Tompkins Sweat series has sadly been discontinued due to the retirement of the craftsman.

In order to revive this rare fabric, a knitting factory in Wakayama focused on sinker knitting machines and created the new LOOP & WEFT Old Sinker Sweat series using Japanese-made sinker machines from the 1970s and special know-how.

While inheriting the unique fluffy texture of Tompkins Sweat, this original brushed fleece has been evolved to overcome the disadvantages of old, outdated knitting machines by taking advantage of the unique strengths of the sinker machine to create a beautiful loop structure and increased stability of the fabric, which is less likely to lose its shape after shrinkage and wearing.

The texture is reminiscent of vintage sweatshirts and the character develops with age, creating a special fleece lining that allows you to experience the unique fluffy, warm and comfortable material the moment you put it on or around your neck.

The shape is based on a classic sweatshirt motif with a double V-shaped design. It is made with time-consuming details such as skilled four-needle sewing that highlights the stitch work, double V-shaped gussets that are hollowed out in the front and back and sewn with four needles, thin and thick ribbing on the cuffs and hem, and a binder neck on the collar. The binder neck on the collar is a vintage neck design with the front and back reversed, called a "reverse binder," sewn with two thin needles using thick thread that is not usually used in cut and sew sewing. This neck design requires rare techniques to enhance the durability of the neck and the overall atmosphere.

The silhouette is a regular fit with a moderate amount of room in the body width and armholes, making it easy to wear while also providing a good balance for layering. We hope you enjoy the ingenious details that have been painstakingly crafted and the special texture of the fleece lining.
