This year, the border fabric has been made slightly thinner.
Last year it was about 9 oz, this year it's about 6 oz.
The yarn used for knitting is the same, but for the knitting needles, until last year we used to "bundle 2 yarns together," whereas for this year's fabric, we are using a single yarn.
Last year, TCB's custom order fabric was made with this thinner version.
I'm a bit rigid in my thinking, so I used to think, "Borders? Agnès and Saint James both use heavy ounce fabrics, so borders must be heavy ounce!!!" and used thick fabrics.
However, when I saw Inoue-kun from TCB wearing a short-sleeved border in summer and looking cool, I thought, "That's nice~".
That's right, 6 oz is the thickness of a regular T-shirt. You can wear it as a single layer in midsummer.
Considering the colors, I came up with the idea that "a tricolor with the neck bound in a different color from the body could work."
So I thought, "Alright, let's do some market research!" and went to look at the global U and Japanese M brands... but there were no, no, no bound-neck (rib-bound) borders to begin with. Most of them had "attached collars" with self-stitching + topstitching around the neck. Attached collars are easier to make "stretch for the head, fit the neck." With bound necks, you have to consider the fabric's stretch and shrinkage, draw neck patterns, make samples, and then draw more patterns and make more samples...
WORKERS has also stopped changing fabrics every year for the past few years, so the fit of our bound necks has become very stable, thanks to all these "multiple samples." (Also thanks to the fabric and sewing factories that produce fabrics with stable physical properties.)
Since the market research was a bust, I ended up choosing colors entirely based on my personal preference, and this is what happened. Too many colors!
My third-rate merchandising skills are on display once again. Prioritizing my feelings over merchandising.
The name tag is WORKERS' trademark, a cat patch & cat print name tag.
This year too, it's made by Okada Name, our father in Okayama. Since the thickness has been reduced, it's easier to use as an inner layer. In early spring, wear it under a denim jacket or coverall.
What I like is pairing a long-sleeved T-shirt with a button-down or band-collar shirt and wearing the shirt like a jacket.
I think it would also go well with this season's swing top.

For leather boots and sandals, try-ons are also offered on the premise of purchase. Please try them on during the final confirmation stage. When trying on, please be careful not to cause wrinkles. Please be sure to bring your own socks.
