For this year's border, we made the fabric slightly thinner.
Last year was about 9oz, this year is about 6oz.

The yarn used for knitting is the same, but for the knitting needles, until last year, we put "two threads together" (two threads bundled), but this year's fabric uses only one thread.

Last year, TCB's custom order used the specifications of this thinner version for the fabric.

I'm a bit stubborn, so I thought, "Border? Even Agnes B. and Saint James use really heavy-ounce fabrics, so borders should be heavy-ounce!!!" and used thick fabric.

However, when I saw Mr. Inoue from TCB wearing a short-sleeved border T-shirt even in summer, looking cool, I thought, "That's nice~".
That's right, 6oz is the thickness of a typical T-shirt. You can wear it as a single layer even in midsummer.

Considering the colors, I came up with the idea, "A tricolor could work by wrapping the neck in a different color than the body."
So I thought, "Okay, let's do some market research!" and went to look at U (global brand) and M (Japanese brand)... but there were no border shirts with a bound neck (wrapped with ribbing). Almost all of them had a "sewn collar," which is self-stitched + stitching around the neckline. Sewn collars are easier to make "stretch for the head, fit the neck." For bound necks, you have to consider the stretch and shrinkage of the fabric, draw a pattern for the neck, make a sample, draw another pattern, make another sample...

For WORKERS, the fabric hasn't changed much in the last few years, so the fit of the binding has become very stable, thanks to these "many samples." (And also thanks to the fabric and sewing companies that produce fabrics with stable physical properties.)

The market research was a dud, so I ended up choosing colors entirely based on my own preferences, and this is what happened. Too many colors!
My third-rate merchandising skills are on display again. Prioritizing my feelings over merchandising.

The name is WORKERS' trademark, the cat patch & cat print name.
This year again, it's made by Okada Name-san, the father of Okayama. Since the thickness has decreased, it's easier to use as an inner layer. In early spring, wear it under a denim jacket or coverall.

What I like is wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt under a button-down or band-collar shirt, and using the shirt like a jacket.
I think it would also go well with this season's swing top.

The above is reprinted from WORKERS official website.

It's a thin, smooth, and pleasant fabric. A piece that seems like you could spend midsummer feeling cool. It has a relaxed silhouette.
