A very thick 10 ounce fabric. It is a blend of Egyptian Giza extra long staple cotton and Pima regular cotton.
When a knitted item such as a T-shirt is made using a single thread (single yarn), a phenomenon occurs in which the yarn twists diagonally in the direction of its twist, a phenomenon known as "skew."
This phenomenon is unacceptable with borders, so we use a double yarn in which the twist direction of each thread is reversed when twisting two threads together.
The knitted fabric is then mercerized, in which it is immersed in an alkaline liquid to make the surface smooth.
The fabric is sturdy and does not easily lose its shape, and the surface is smooth so it is less likely to get caught even when wearing a jacket over it.
A crew neck with thick ribbing at the neck to prevent stretching.
