Just as the name suggests, this waffle knit is BIG!

Introducing the UES 60BW BIG WAFFLE T-SHIRT, now available in SAND BEIGE and OFF WHITE.

Thermal shirts are a familiar part of any autumn and winter wardrobe, but this one is a little different.

Made with thick yarns on a low-gauge knitting machine, it features an oversized waffle texture with plenty of depth and character.

Those pronounced ridges and pockets help trap warm air, providing excellent insulation.

Despite its substantial appearance, the fabric has a comfortable amount of stretch, making it surprisingly easy to wear.

It has the presence of a chunky knit sweater, but with the everyday practicality of a cotton-style cut-and-sew top.

The seams are sewn using a flatseamer machine, which helps minimize bulk and keeps the thick fabric comfortable against the skin.

The hem is finished with overlock stitching rather than a ribbed waistband, creating a clean, boxy silhouette.

That makes it just as appealing worn on its own as it is layered under a jacket.

OFF WHITE is a soft, natural white that beautifully highlights the waffle texture.

SAND BEIGE is a muted beige with subtle gray and khaki undertones.

Wear it with jeans or work trousers, or layer it under a flannel shirt or coverall when the temperature drops.

Warmth is certainly part of the appeal, but this is also a shirt worth wearing simply for its wonderful texture.

Waffle vs. Honeycomb: What's the Difference?

Thermal fabrics are generally divided into two main knit structures: waffle and honeycomb.

Waffle knit gets its name from the familiar grid of square-shaped ridges and recesses, resembling the surface of a waffle.

Honeycomb knit, on the other hand, features a finer, cell-like texture inspired by the hexagonal structure of a beehive.

Both use a textured surface to help retain pockets of warm air between the fabric and the body, improving insulation.

The UES 60BW takes the traditional waffle structure and makes it considerably larger.

By combining thick yarns with a low-gauge knitting machine, UES creates a bold, three-dimensional texture that stands apart from ordinary thermal shirts.

But what exactly does "low gauge" mean?

In knitting, gauge refers to the density of needles on a knitting machine. A lower gauge means fewer needles within a given width, making it suitable for thicker yarns and more substantial knit structures.

The result is a fabric with plenty of texture, volume, and character.

Rather than simply making the fabric heavier, UES uses the knit structure itself to achieve a balance of warmth, flexibility, and comfort.

It's a great example of how much difference the construction of a fabric can make.

In-store try-ons are offered as a service to customers who are considering purchasing from our store.

Please refrain from trying on items solely for the purpose of size confirmation.

Items such as cut-and-sew garments, which are prone to stretching, cannot be tried on. Exchanges after trying on at home post-purchase are also not accepted.

Please also refrain from trying on belts, as they tend to stretch. For length confirmation, please bring a belt you are currently using.

For leather boots and sandals, try-ons are also offered on the premise of purchase. Please try them on during the final confirmation stage. When trying on, please be careful not to cause wrinkles. Please be sure to bring your own socks.
