This cap is modeled after those worn as uniforms by railroad workers and engineers.

It is a hat designed after the original work caps, featuring a functional design where the brim is sewn with extra allowance between it and the body, making it easier to flip up when worn, thus facilitating work.

The crown consists of a 6-panel "crazy pattern," and the stitching uses chain stitching with a lap seam, commonly found in denim and painter pants, to enhance durability.

The body is made of cotton-linen prepera fabric.
Its coarse weave and textured surface provide a refreshing feel.

It features an inner adjustable size tape and is available in 3 sizes with an adjustment function.

A work cap that feels somehow cool.

While the design has its roots in caps worn by railroad workers and engineers, this C/L PREPERA RAILROAD CAP doesn't have the heavy "workwear" impression.

The reason for this is undoubtedly the fabric.

The cotton 70%・linen 30% prepera fabric has a coarse weave that is clearly visible up close.

The fabric surface has subtle irregularities, giving it a dry, light appearance that is distinctly different from ordinary cotton twill or denim caps.

With this fabric, it seems like it can be used not only in spring and summer but also into early autumn when the heat still lingers.

The shape is 6-panel, but upon closer inspection, the panel arrangement is a non-uniform "crazy pattern."

Furthermore, the seams use chain stitching with a lap seam, also seen in work pants.

Simple from a distance.

Elaborate up close.

This balance might be just right for everyday use.

And personally, I like the brim.

While it looks good worn with the brim down, flipping it up slightly instantly gives it the look of an old-fashioned work cap.

It goes well with simple summer styles like a T-shirt and military pants or jeans, and of course, with work shirts and coveralls.

What is Prepera?

Prepera is a woven fabric that creates a rough, uneven surface through the use of threads of different thicknesses and weaving methods.

The fabric used this time is cotton-linen prepera, composed of 70% cotton and 30% linen.

Looking closely at the photos, you can see a three-dimensional weave with fine gaps, unlike typical plain weaves or twills.

This coarse structure reduces the surface area that touches the skin, giving it a visually cool and dry texture.

Furthermore, blending 30% linen adds a refreshing feel and unique material quality that is difficult to achieve with cotton alone.

When touched, it feels smooth and soft. As the fabric gets more worn and softened over time, it transforms into an even softer, drapier texture, which is a unique pleasure of natural fibers.

Trying on at the store
