This is a Henley neck T-shirt made from "Tsuri-ami Tenjiku," a rare fabric proudly produced in Wakayama.

The fabric is made using old-fashioned loopwheel knitting machines, of which only about 200 are currently in operation in Wakayama. This creates a loopwheeled Tenjiku fabric with a plump softness and rich texture that cannot be replicated by modern high-speed knitting machines. By knitting slowly over time without applying unnecessary tension to the yarn, a thick fabric with both high elasticity and durability is achieved, and it develops a deeper, more appealing look with each wear.

The design is based on Henley neck shirts from the 1960s. It incorporates classical details throughout, such as a carefully double-stitched fabric placket and a vintage neck made with jacquard knitting, where each piece is knitted individually. Furthermore, wide ribs are placed on the cuffs, giving it a strong presence even when worn alone.

Skilled artisans use 4-needle flat seam stitching and 2-needle stitching. This minimizes seam allowance irregularities, achieving both comfortable wear and beautiful stitching.

The silhouette is a regular fit with moderate room around the body and sleeves. It has a great feel when worn alone and is versatile enough to be worn as an inner layer under shirts or jackets.
