While working on the Spring/Summer M-43 / Cargo Pocket pants with front pockets, I realized: "If you add two pockets to a 2-pocket design, you get four. So, why not take a 6-pocket design, remove the back pockets, and end up with four?" Yes, it's a "sequel"—like *Let's Twist Again* or *Let's Ondo Again*.

Personally, as I've aged, I've stopped reaching for 6-pocket pants because they feel "heavy" and "bulky" when worn. Since side pockets are a given, a certain amount of bulk is unavoidable, but by removing the back pockets, the pants feel much cleaner and easier to wear. While the pattern is based on the M-65, I modified the front pockets to a slanted style like chinos. I removed the flaps, the knee pleats, and the hem drawstrings, aiming for a pair of "military pants that are easy to wear."

The material is 100% cotton back satin. I considered making it cotton/nylon to mimic the M-65 style, but decided against it, prioritizing a good color—not too dark, not too light—and the pleasant feel of 100% cotton, thinking, "It's not a reproduction anyway." Still, using the size label shown above reveals my sad "replica generation" roots.

Spiral Comment

Despite being military pants, this WORKERS M-65 Trousers Mod is slightly sophisticated.

Because they have cargo pockets, they are technically military pants, but they lack the ruggedness typical of standard cargo pants.

They feature a wide, straight silhouette that falls cleanly.

Even with ample room from the waist to the hem, the lack of unnecessary embellishments makes them look surprisingly streamlined when worn.

It’s fun to experiment with outfits that don't lean too heavily into the "military" look.

Try them with a white shirt and leather shoes.

In the summer, pair them with a T-shirt and sandals.

Come autumn, they should look great with a refined knit or sweatshirt.

Of course, they go perfectly with denim jackets and work shirts, but I feel the appeal of these pants stands out even more when you intentionally avoid styling them in a traditional military way.

The fabric is 100% cotton back satin.

They are comfortable from the moment you put them on, and it will be interesting to see how the olive color fades gradually with repeated washing.
