This cap is inspired by those worn as uniforms by railroad workers and engineers.

It is a hat designed after the original functional work caps, which made tasks easier by incorporating extra seam allowance between the brim and the body. This allowed the brim to be easily flipped up when worn.

The crown is constructed with a 6-panel crazy pattern, and the stitching uses chain stitching, a felling seam method typically found in denim and painter pants, to enhance durability.

The body uses a cotton-linen Prepera fabric.
It has a refreshing texture with a rough weave and a textured surface.

The design features an inner size adjustment tape, available in 3 sizes with an adjustment function.

A work cap that feels somewhat cool.

Although the design originates from caps worn by railroad workers and engineers, this C/L PREPERA RAILROAD CAP doesn't have the heavy, "workwear" impression.

The reason, of course, is the fabric.

The cotton 70% linen 30% Prepera fabric is so loosely woven that you can clearly see the weave up close.

The fabric surface has subtle irregularities, giving it a distinctly dry and light appearance, unlike typical cotton twill or denim caps.

This fabric seems suitable not only for spring and summer but also for extended wear into early autumn when the heat still lingers.

The shape is 6-panel, but a closer look reveals a crazy pattern where the panels are not uniformly arranged.

Furthermore, the seams use chain stitching with felling seams, also seen in work pants.

It looks simple from a distance.

But up close, it's meticulously crafted.

This balance might be just right for everyday use.

And personally, I love the brim.

While it's good to wear it with the brim forward, flipping it up slightly instantly gives it the look of an old work cap.

It goes well with a simple summer style of T-shirt and military pants or jeans, and of course, with work shirts and coveralls.

What is Prepera fabric?

Prepera is a woven fabric with a coarse, textured surface created by using different thicknesses of yarn and weaving methods.

The fabric used this time is cotton-linen Prepera, made of 70% cotton and 30% linen.

Looking closely at the photos, unlike regular plain weave or twill, you can see a three-dimensional weave with fine gaps.

This coarse structure reduces the surface area that touches the skin, giving it a visually cool and dry texture.

Furthermore, blending in 30% linen adds a refreshing feel and unique material quality that is difficult to achieve with cotton alone.

When touched, it feels smooth and soft. As the fabric gets more worn and broken in, it will change from its new state to an even softer, more flowing texture, which is a unique pleasure of natural fibers.
