WORKERS, a familiar tool bag for long-time customers, is finally back after a long hiatus.

Main body: No. 4 canvas / approx. 23.5 oz
Bottom: No. 6 canvas / approx. 19 oz

Size
Width: approx. 31 cm at the bottom, height: 30 cm, depth: 18 cm.
The width tapers towards the top, so the opening is a maximum of approx. 40 cm.

Handle length
Short: 25 cm
Long: 60 cm (shoulder length)

One outer pocket on one side.

At first glance, it looks the same as the one I made before, but...
The fabric, factory, sewing thread, name tag, and tape are all different.

The main body fabric is No. 4 canvas. I intentionally chose a fabric without selvedge. This is because, before, I was too particular about selvedge, and it could only be made at "this weaving factory." In fact, the factory I originally commissioned has already gone out of business.

This time, the premise was that "the fabric can be stably sourced without selvedge." On top of that, I aimed for something even better than selvedge.

The problem then was the side seams. If you don't use selvedge, you can only "fold" or "overlock and sew." Folding and sewing is naturally neater, but the difficulty of sewing is on a completely different level.

So, I searched and searched and found a factory in the town next to my father's hometown. The president there loves sewing machines and "rappa" attachments, and we hit it off. Because of that, I can confidently entrust the work to them. (Although the labor cost is quite high.)

The folded parts on the sides act as a skeleton, allowing the bag to stand on its own even when empty. After all, a tote bag is easier to use when it can stand on its own.

The bottom is No. 6 canvas. The seam in the middle adds a design accent. Originally, it was a narrow fabric, and I deliberately left in the ingenuity of using selvedge for the triangular part (although I was told it's "hard and difficult! And it costs more!").

The sewing thread is thick polyester. It's surface-coated to prevent untwisting.

The name tag also looks the same as before at first glance. But in the past, it was printed on sheeting, and this time, it's printed on coated fabric. The pattern appears sharper.

For the tape, I searched and searched and found a manufacturer. I went to visit them right away and learned about their "cotton spun rayon power loom tape," which is extremely stiff and thick. This same width of tape also has power loom and other weaving machines, and the power loom is especially thick. However, productivity is poor, and if there's no stock, you have to wait a very long time. But for this tape, it's worth waiting. WORKERS also orders a larger stock. (Currently, black dyeing is also in progress.)

By meeting new factories, it's different from before. I aimed for the highest quality that can be made now.

The long-awaited return of the tool bag!

I've been using the old model for many years, and there have been no problems at all except for the handles getting worn out.

I've also repaired several handles for customers who cherish their bags. It's a bag you want to keep using even if it needs repairs.

The detailed specifications are, of course, different from the old model, but the actual product that arrived is undoubtedly usable as a tough tool bag this time as well.

Sturdy fabric, stitching with thick thread, and rugged handles. "Yes, this is it," I couldn't help but smile.

The size is also a very convenient bag. I immediately started using it to throw in my laptop, documents, patterns, half-finished samples, and all the other things I somehow end up carrying around every day!
