Black bandannas are not my forte. Yurika Shikai excels at this… Looking at loads of lacquerware and feeling really inspired I found a piece that spoke to me as if I was speaking with a person through my phone. Which I was… I was being shown a beautiful Japanese lacquerware piece that had such subtle beauty, that my screen really didn’t do it justice. The chrysanthemum is as Japanese as big-eyed anime characters. Albeit a bit more subtle and nuanced. I couldn’t think of anything other than making a bandanna using a design to something similar to this reference. Using the deepest black and a merlotest-pink the elegance here is extremely subtle and refined. I feel like this is one of those designs destined for bigger things. While it may look simple once tied or wrapped it is such a stylish look. The color scheme is also easy to mix and match with pretty much anything. I would love to see it mixed with pinks and beiges at some point. Just another great design to stare at while sipping tea and contemplating tea gardens.

To be honest, black bandanas are not my strong suit.
But Yurika Shikai is really excellent at this...
As I was looking at tons of lacquerware, I felt really inspired and found a piece that spoke to me as if I was talking to someone through my phone.
...Well, I actually was, through my phone.
What I was shown on the screen was a beautiful Japanese lacquerware piece, and its delicate beauty honestly couldn't be fully conveyed through the screen.
The chrysanthemum motif is as Japanese as big-eyed anime characters, but it's more understated and nuanced.
The moment I saw it, I couldn't think of anything else but to make a bandana using a design similar to this.
Using the deepest black and a merlot-like pink, the elegance here is truly subtle and refined.
I feel like this is one of those designs destined for bigger things in the future.
While it might look simple once tied or wrapped, it's actually incredibly stylish.
The color scheme is also easy to mix and match with almost anything, and someday I'd love to see it coordinated with pinks and beiges.
It's another one of those great designs to stare at while sipping tea and contemplating tea gardens.

Since it's a large 90 x 90 size, the ways you can use it are even more diverse.
You can wrap it like a skirt or tie it into a bag.
