At first, you barely see it. But the more you wear them, the more the herringbone begins to emerge.

Another version of the WORKERS Lot 815 Work Pants, this time in 12oz Grey Back Indigo Herringbone.

The basic construction is the same as the 11oz Pure Indigo Denim version.

A jeans-style back yoke is combined with triple-needle felled seams along the sides, inseams, yoke and seat. Even the needle spacing changes depending on the area—a detail that reflects WORKERS' idea of creating a slightly more “deluxe” pair of work pants.

But what really makes this version interesting is the fabric.

Indigo herringbone has become something of a recurring fabric for WORKERS over the past few seasons. This time, they've taken it a step further, making it heavier and more substantial at 12oz.

And rather than emphasizing the herringbone pattern, they've actually designed the fabric so that the pattern is less noticeable when new.

The key is the grey top-dyed weft yarn.

Turn the fabric over and the grey is immediately visible, but from the face, the herringbone blends quietly into the indigo for a much more subdued appearance.

And that's where things get interesting.

As the indigo gradually fades with wear, the herringbone pattern that was initially hidden begins to reveal itself.

The more you wear them, the more the pattern comes through.

It's a very different kind of aging from ordinary denim.

I've been wearing an earlier version of the Lot 815 myself, and the silhouette really is incredibly easy to wear.

Wide, but not too wide. Workwear, but not too workwear.

Choosing between these two fabrics is going to be difficult.

Why Is the Herringbone So Subtle When New?

Herringbone is a weave in which the direction of the twill is periodically reversed, creating the distinctive V-shaped pattern that resembles the bones of a herring.

Normally, that visible woven pattern is part of the appeal.

With this fabric, however, WORKERS deliberately took the opposite approach: making the herringbone less noticeable in its one-washed state.

The yarns are one step heavier than those used in their previous indigo herringbone fabrics, bringing the overall weight up to 12oz.

The weft also uses grey top-dyed yarn.

Rather than simply dyeing a finished yarn a uniform grey, top-dyed yarn is made by blending colored fibers before spinning. This gives the yarn a naturally heathered appearance rather than a completely uniform shade.

Using this grey weft reduces the amount of light-colored yarn visible from the face of the fabric and softens the contrast within the herringbone weave.

As a result, the pattern blends into the indigo when new. With repeated wear and washing, however, the indigo warp gradually fades and the herringbone structure begins to reveal itself.

Instead of a pattern that disappears with wear, this is a pattern that appears with wear.

That's what makes this 12oz Grey Back Indigo Herringbone so interesting.

The garment comes one-washed.

Hemming Service / 裾上げについて

Hemming is available free of charge for pants purchased from our store. We use thread that is as close as possible to the original in color and thickness, and finish the hem using the same sewing method as the original garment: chain stitch for chain-stitched hems and lockstitch for lockstitched hems.
当店でお買い上げいただいたパンツの裾上げは、無料で承っております。できる限り製品のオリジナルに近い色・太さの糸を使用し、もともとの縫製仕様に合わせて、チェーンステッチ仕上げの商品はチェーンステッチ、平縫い仕上げの商品は平縫いにて仕上げます。

If you would like hemming, please measure along the inseam from the crotch seam to the hem and let us know your desired inseam length in centimeters.
裾上げをご希望の場合は、インシーム（股下の縫い合わせ部分）に沿って、股の付け根から裾までの長さを測り、ご希望の股下寸法をcmでお知らせください。

Most of the pants we carry are made from fabrics that have not undergone preshrinking or similar treatments, with an emphasis on preserving the natural character of the fabric and garment. As a result, slight differences between the left and right sides, as well as variations of a few millimeters, may occur due to the characteristics of the fabric, sewing, and washing.

We will finish the hem as closely as possible to your requested measurement; however, we cannot guarantee precision to the millimeter. If you require an extremely precise finished length, we recommend having the alteration performed by a specialist who can measure the garment in person.

In-store try-ons are offered as a service to customers who are considering purchasing from our store.

Please refrain from trying on items solely for the purpose of size confirmation.

Items such as cut-and-sew garments, which are prone to stretching, cannot be tried on. Exchanges after trying on at home post-purchase are also not accepted.

Please also refrain from trying on belts, as they tend to stretch. For length confirmation, please bring a belt you are currently using.

For leather boots and sandals, try-ons are also offered on the premise of purchase. Please try them on during the final confirmation stage. When trying on, please be careful not to cause wrinkles. Please be sure to bring your own socks.
