The neckline is extremely durable. It stretches when you put your head through it, then returns to its original shape around the neck. The two-tier binder ensures it won't easily stretch out even with repeated wear. We custom-made the metal fittings for the sewing machine specifically for this purpose.

The hem and cuffs use a technique commonly called "Tenchi." Recently, it's also referred to as "single," but it's not sewn with a single-stitch machine; instead, the settings of a serger are changed.

When the serger is set loosely, the threads run vertically when opened. This looks like dots, which is why it's called "single." It's a reproduction of a once-major stitching method used in American-made T-shirts.

This year, we're using a 7 oz jersey fabric. We first used this fabric last year for a football jersey and I tried wearing it myself.

"It has the dry feel of a vintage T-shirt. It's comfortable to wear, and has a firm feel that doesn't easily lose its shape. Yet, the fabric isn't too thick to be hot; it's just the right weight."

The Running Cat T, 24SS, was a very stiff 10 oz, and the 25SS was a softer 6 oz cotton-rayon blend. If you own them, please feel and compare the difference in materials.

This year, we added a print. What should we do? While chatting over tea with Inoue-kun from TCB, he said, "It has to be college style!" College-style animals... that's it, Wild Cats! I came up with the idea, and designed the text part. But there was no illustration.

That's when AI finally came in. I used ChatGPT to create a college-style design based on my brown tabby cat, Ocha-kun.
I learned from using AI that trial and error is necessary, such as "close the mouth a little more" or "with an angry expression." After half a day, I had a satisfactory design.
