For the Spring/Summer season, I made a version of the M-43/cargo pocket pants that includes front pockets, and it occurred to me: "If you add two pockets to two, you get four. So, why not take a six-pocket design and remove the back pockets to make a four-pocket one?" That's right—a second attempt at success, a "Let's Twist Again," a "Let's Ondo Again."

Personally, as I've aged, I've found myself reaching for six-pocket pants less often because they feel "heavy" and "bulky." Since they have side pockets, some bulk is unavoidable, but by removing the back pockets, they become much cleaner and easier to wear. While the pattern is based on the M-65, the front pockets have been modified to resemble the slanted pockets of chinos. I removed the flaps, knee pleats, and hem drawstrings, aiming for "military pants that are easy to wear."

The fabric is 100% cotton back satin. I wavered on whether to use a cotton/nylon blend for an M-65 look, but decided against it—"It's not a reproduction anyway"—and prioritized the hand-feel of 100% cotton and a color that isn't too dark or too light. Still, using that size label above just goes to show what a sad member of the "replica generation" I am.

Spiral Comment

Even though they are military pants, these WORKERS M-65 Trousers Mod have a touch of refinement.

Because they feature cargo pockets, they are undeniably military pants, but they lack the ruggedness typical of standard cargo trousers.

They have a wide, straight silhouette.

While they provide plenty of room from the waist down to the hem, the lack of unnecessary embellishments makes them look surprisingly clean when worn.

You can also have fun styling them in ways that don't lean too heavily into the military aesthetic.

Try pairing them with a white shirt and leather shoes.

In the summer, pair them with a T-shirt and sandals.

Come autumn, they should look great with a sophisticated knit or sweatshirt.

Of course, they go perfectly with denim jackets or work shirts, but I feel the appeal of these pants really shines when you choose not to style them like typical military gear.

The fabric is 100% cotton back satin.

They feel comfortable from the very first wear, and it will be exciting to see the olive color fade beautifully with repeated washing.

Items such as cut-and-sew garments, which are prone to stretching, cannot be tried on. Exchanges after trying on at home post-purchase are also not accepted.

Please also refrain from trying on belts, as they tend to stretch. For length confirmation, please bring a belt you are currently using.

For leather boots and sandals, try-ons are also offered on the premise of purchase. Please try them on during the final confirmation stage. When trying on, please be careful not to cause wrinkles. Please be sure to bring your own socks.
