I've always wanted to make a denim jacket with a blanket.

The lining is, when I took apart some old OSHKOSH clothes and sent them to an inspection agency,

The test results showed that "the warp threads are thin cotton threads, and the weft threads are a blend of wool and rayon."

Based on the results, the WORKERS version

The yarn used is "40-count cotton yarn for the warp, and recycled wool (W70/P25/other 5)" for the weft.

The outer fabric is WORKERS' standard 13.75 oz. Kibata denim, made from 100% American cotton, with selected cotton and yarn made to order.

The biggest challenge was the difference in shrinkage between the outer and inner fabrics. The outer fabric shrinks a lot, so we made the lining without washing (kibata) so that the inner fabric would shrink as much as possible. But even then, the outer fabric still shrunk a lot!

So I adjusted the pattern: make the front larger and the back smaller. However, this makes it difficult to sew.

Because unprocessed fabric is used on the front and back, the edges of the fabric tend to fray after cutting. The mother of F Clothing who sewed it complained that it didn't come out nicely, but it turned out fine. (When the first sample was finished, she got mad at me. Stop using fabric like this! It doesn't come out nicely!)

The specifications are also ingenious. The "SF L" is sewn as one piece by joining the front and back. However, thicker areas such as the armpits are easily punctured (the edges of the fabric are not properly rolled in). The back cinch is also attached by punching out, so the difference in shrinkage between the front and back causes the fabric to hang up too much. It's OK as a vintage item, but as clothing it's very crudely made.

On the other hand, the "L in Kansas" is finished by sewing the front and back separately. In addition, the hem is ruffled, so the shrinkage difference can be ignored.

WORKERS combines these two, and is based on the Kansas L. The leather patch is cut out, the hem is tucked into the body, and the lining is slightly overlapped for extra room.

The product has been overhauled.

The blanket version is a little hard to wear. But I like it. But if it's from WORKERS, it must be easy to wear.

This denim jacket with blanket is beautifully finished with the calculated space you'd expect.

Staff Gallo has enough room in the chest to wear even a size 36. The length doesn't seem to be that different either.

At 40, I feel there is a lot of room in the width.

Trying on at the store
