There's a good reason why this shirt has been loved for so many years.

The ever-popular UES Heavy Flannel Shirt has arrived at Spiral!

This time, we have three colors: Navy, Charcoal, and Brown.

Each features a distinctive plaid pattern, with its own unique character.

Calling it a seasonal favorite doesn't quite do it justice. UES heavy flannel shirts have been loved by customers for years and years.

The substantial fabric makes an impression the moment you pick it up.

But there's much more to it than just thickness and durability.

Woven on traditional shuttle looms, the fabric has a wonderfully natural texture and a softness that you might not expect from something this substantial.

The balance between the warp and weft yarns allows the fabric to move naturally, making it surprisingly comfortable and easy to wear.

The inside is also lightly brushed, giving it a soft feel against the skin and a little extra warmth when the weather turns cold.

And of course, what would a UES flannel shirt be without those distinctive chest pockets?

The two acorn-shaped flap pockets feature diagonally arranged plaid patterns that add a lovely touch of character.

It's a rugged work shirt, but those little details give it a certain charm, don't you think?

The yarn-dyed fabric will also gradually develop subtle changes in color with wear.

From the crisp appearance of a brand-new shirt to the beautifully worn-in character of a flannel you've lived in for years.

Heavy Yet Supple: The Character of Shuttle-Loom Woven Flannel

One of the defining features of UES heavy flannel is the way the fabric is woven on traditional shuttle looms.

Compared with modern high-speed weaving machines, these older looms operate at a slower pace.

But simply using a shuttle loom doesn't automatically make a fabric softer.

What really matters is the balance between the thickness of the yarns, the density of the warp and weft, and the tension used during weaving.

UES carefully balances these elements to create a fabric that is substantial without becoming excessively stiff.

The result is a heavy flannel that retains enough flexibility to move comfortably with the body and gradually becomes even more comfortable with wear.

Another important detail is the use of reactive dyes for the yarn-dyed plaid fabric.

Reactive dyes form a chemical bond with cotton fibers, making them relatively resistant to fading.

Even so, years of wear and washing will gradually bring subtle changes to the colors, adding depth and character to the plaid pattern.

Rather than dramatic fading, it's a slow and gentle transformation.

And that's another part of the pleasure of owning a UES heavy flannel shirt for years to come.

In-store try-ons are offered as a service to customers who are considering purchasing from our store.

Please refrain from trying on items solely for the purpose of size confirmation.

Items such as cut-and-sew garments, which are prone to stretching, cannot be tried on. Exchanges after trying on at home post-purchase are also not accepted.

Please also refrain from trying on belts, as they tend to stretch. For length confirmation, please bring a belt you are currently using.

For leather boots and sandals, try-ons are also offered on the premise of purchase. Please try them on during the final confirmation stage. When trying on, please be careful not to cause wrinkles. Please be sure to bring your own socks.
