Heroes always have a secret zipper hidden on their back.
But I think it's perfectly fine if it's prominently placed on the front.

Every time I travel, I find myself cramming more luggage than planned into my suitcase, and each time I rediscover the marvel of the zipper.

As someone accustomed to button-fly jeans, I'm honestly not sure if a zipper on a G-jacket would dramatically increase its convenience.

Nevertheless, if a brand had entered the G-jacket market in the 1950s as a latecomer, I imagine they would have loaded it with every conceivable feature to catch up with other companies. Thinking about it this way makes me feel a bit fond of the idea.

As I mentioned in yesterday's blog,
the pace of things is changing rapidly these days.
There are more and more products in the world that start as alpha or beta versions and evolve as they go.

Observing this trend, I wanted to create a garment with a "Z" in its product number.

This "Z" does not signify the final form. It just means it's fully equipped.

Front zipper.
Round fasteners.
Action pleats.
And six elastic bands.

If a brand that released a G-jacket in 1947 had been a latecomer,
I'm sure they would have caught up with this level of equipment.

The front pleats are also an interesting feature.
They were said to be for size adjustment, but in reality, they were fixed with round fasteners and couldn't be adjusted. Yet, they remained.

Perhaps this was the first time
pleats were recognized as "design" rather than "specifications."

What we've created this time is
a jacket featuring a 1950s front zipper, round fasteners, action pleats,
and six elastic bands.
A fully equipped latecomer. The Z stands for Zipper.

The Rancher'z Jacket is now available.
*It can be worn as a set with the Working Cat Hero Jeans, made from the same fabric.

■Fabric
While we have made Levi's and right-hand twill Lee fabrics from the Cowboy era, this is our first time making left-hand twill at TCB. We couldn't use our accumulated know-how, so we had to start from scratch. Although Wrangler is considered one of the big three brands, its history is surprisingly shorter than the other two, being only 75 years old under the Wrangler name.
When I was researching if they were a latecomer but still used raw denim, I found an interesting page in an old GIMMIE BOOK.

A child dressed as a cowboy says,
"My mom says these jeans are sanforized, so they're easy to wash."
Honestly, with just vintage clothing, I hadn't been able to trace the finishing method of this fabric, but following the advice of the little cowboy, we've sanforized it. It's an 11.6oz fabric with 9-count warp and 9-count weft yarns.

The vintage 11MW model number also seems to come from the use of 11oz fabric. Since it's left-hand twill, the twill lines stand out, and the slub length is long, so it fades in lines rather than like Levi's. Although it's sanforized, we haven't singed or skewed it, so it will still twist like vintage denim. When you look at actual vintage Wrangler, you can definitely see that twisting and vertical fading.

Above, reprinted from TCB official.

Spiral, by the way, tends to prefer this type over Levi's.

Of course, we have it available in full sizes.

It's a very snug fit, but the action pleats with six elastic bands make it comfortable.

Just by wearing it, you'll achieve a naturally inverted triangle silhouette that creates a handsome look without needing to work out.

While it's a different model, wear it casually like Cliff in the movie "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."

By the way, my favorite scene is "Cliff eating mac and cheese from a pot with his beloved dog Brandy."
