Kanpachi Velvet is made in Hamamatsu City. Its production requires advanced techniques, and is made using a weft pile weaving technique, in which the pile is made from the weft threads and then cut to fluff the fabric. Currently, there are only a limited number of craftsmen and weaving machines, making it rare and in short supply.

The description of Deluxe Wear says that it is from Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, but I think it is actually velveteen from Fukuda, Iwata City, which is next door. I have heard that there is only one company in Fukuda that can do cutting (shearing). *The finishing may be done in Hamamatsu.
It is a great shame to see such advanced technology being lost in this way.
Spiral has a special attachment to Fukuda's corduroy and velveteen, and would like to continue to support the region in some way.
This product is machine embroidered, but it has a very nice finish. Please take a look at the actual product.
The outer fabric is velvet and the inner fabric is rayon, making it reversible.
One green medium size item will also be available at a later date.
