Cotton knit sweatshirts, whose prototype began to be created in the 1930s, became widely available in the market in the 1940s. They are classified into several types, such as the front V-type, which has a V-shaped insert rib called a gusset at the neck, the double V-type, which has gussets at both the front and back, and set-in sleeves and freedom sleeves.

The many variations are interesting, and when including the texture of the cotton knit, there are dozens of types.

In the early 1950s, with technological advancements, new spinning machines became available on the market, making it possible to spin cotton into yarn faster and more efficiently. Thanks to these spinning machines, sweatshirts are said to have become even more widespread.

This spinning machine produced yarn with unique characteristics, being dry and stiff, and these characteristics were inevitably reflected in the cotton knit produced. DELUXEWARE sweatshirts inherit these characteristics and aim for even higher quality.

The greatest appeal of this sweatshirt is its 20oz loopwheel fleece, woven to its densest limit on an old-style loopwheel knitting machine in Wakayama.

While significantly thicker than a typical sweatshirt, it also possesses the unique suppleness of loopwheel knitting, which contains air.

Furthermore, the brushed back specification provides excellent heat retention, making it useful as a jacket substitute in the middle of winter.

By wearing it for many years, the fabric will gradually conform and develop a vintage sweatshirt texture.
