Ears out or ears tucked away? It's amazing how much the look of a hat can change with one little adjustment!

The D-01176 EAR FATIGUE HAT from THE H.W.DOG&CO. has arrived at Spiral.

Inspired by military fatigue hats, it features a rounded crown and a brim that extends all the way around.

The fabric is a high-density military serge made from 100% cotton.

After construction, each hat undergoes a vintage finishing process, creating subtle differences from one piece to another and giving the fabric that wonderfully relaxed, well-worn character.

But the real highlight of this hat is, of course, the ear flaps!

Tuck them inside for a clean, classic hat silhouette.

When the weather turns cold, simply pull them out to cover your head and ears for extra warmth.

The underside of the ear flaps is made from a brushed, suede-like cotton fabric.

All three colors feature the same brick-red lining, which adds a lovely little contrast.

The brim is finished with multiple rows of stitching, giving the soft fabric a distinctive, structured appearance.

It looks right at home with denim jackets, coveralls, and military outerwear, but would also pair beautifully with sweatshirts and flannel shirts.

One thing worth mentioning is the fit.

With the ear flaps tucked inside, the approximate head measurements are 56cm for size 36, 57cm for size 38, and 60cm for size 40.

In this configuration, the hat fits a little smaller and sits slightly shallower on the head.

Pull the ear flaps out, and the hat sits deeper, comfortably covering your head and ears when the temperature drops.

It would be a shame to save this one just for winter.

With the ear flaps tucked away, it's a great everyday hat, too.

A clever little design that's as practical as it is good-looking!

How the Ear Flaps Change the Fit

One important detail about the EAR FATIGUE HAT is that both the fit and the depth change depending on whether the ear flaps are tucked inside or worn out.

Spiral measurements are taken from the actual items received at our shop.

When the ear flaps are folded inside, the extra fabric adds a layer around the inner crown, making the hat fit slightly smaller and sit a little shallower.

When the flaps are pulled out, the hat sits deeper and provides more coverage around the head and ears.

When choosing your size, we recommend considering how you plan to wear the hat most often—with the ear flaps tucked away or fully extended.

Trying on at the store

In-store try-ons are offered as a service to customers who are considering purchasing from our store.

Please refrain from trying on items solely for the purpose of size confirmation.

Items such as cut-and-sew garments, which are prone to stretching, cannot be tried on. Exchanges after trying on at home post-purchase are also not accepted.

Please also refrain from trying on belts, as they tend to stretch. For length confirmation, please bring a belt you are currently using.

For leather boots and sandals, try-ons are also offered on the premise of purchase. Please try them on during the final confirmation stage. When trying on, please be careful not to cause wrinkles. Please be sure to bring your own socks.
