The Tompkins Sweat series has sadly been discontinued due to the retirement of the craftsman.

In order to revive this rare fabric, a knitting factory in Wakayama focused on sinker knitting machines and created the new LOOP & WEFT Old Sinker Sweat series using Japanese-made sinker machines from the 1970s and special know-how.

While inheriting the unique fluffy texture of Tompkins Sweat, this original brushed fleece has been evolved to overcome the disadvantages of old, outdated knitting machines by taking advantage of the unique strengths of the sinker machine to create a beautiful loop structure and increased stability of the fabric, which is less likely to lose its shape after shrinkage and wearing.

The texture is reminiscent of vintage sweatshirts and the character develops with age. This special fleece lining allows you to experience the unique fluffy, warm and comfortable material the moment you put it on or around your neck.

The shape is based on a classic sweatshirt motif with a special neck design as the key feature. The time-consuming details, such as the skilled four-needle stitching that highlights the stitch work, the thin and thick ribbing on the cuffs and hem, and the binder neck on the collar, are carefully crafted. The binder neck on the collar is a vintage neck design with the front and back reversed, called a "reverse binder," sewn with two thin needles using thick thread that is not normally used in cut and sew sewing. The neck design requires rare techniques to enhance the durability of the neck and the overall look.

The silhouette is a regular fit with a moderate amount of room in the body width and armholes, making it easy to wear while also providing a good balance for layering. We hope you enjoy the ingenious details that have been painstakingly crafted and the special texture of the fleece lining.

Above all, this sweatshirt is made to feel soft and fluffy. The name "Fluffy Knit" is also cute.

The color is CLASSIC BLACK, which has a slight reddish tint and is similar to charcoal black.

The good thing about LOOP & WEFT sweatshirts is that they are based on American casual style but have a subtle elegance to them. They go well with denim jackets and coveralls, as well as with pretty jackets, so they are a recommended item for all genres and ages.

This product has a simple design without a V-neck, but the back binder finish and skillful neck stitching are the key points. It is a nice accent.
