A new color, Paw Stripe, will be released for the Cathartt Chore Coat, which was created with heart buttons. This Chore Coat has a dual nature: it's classic and cool when viewed as a finished garment, combining the heart stripe that existed in vintage Carhartt with the TCB-ness of Cat's Paw. But if you look closely, it's also cute.

This fabric was produced by Sanyo Senko Co., Ltd. in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, my hometown. When I was a boy, I used to go to the game center in the neighborhood, but I had no idea that there was a company with such interesting technology so close by.

This process involves indigo dyeing using a continuous dyeing machine, one of the few in Japan that can indigo dye raw fabric, and then discharge printing, where a discharge agent is applied with a cylinder to remove the color, and then an immersion print is applied in beige.

Because beige is applied to the white discharged heart pattern, the resulting hearts have slightly blurred outlines.

Even with vintage wabash fabrics, you sometimes see wabash with blurred outlines. However, as these printing plates are used, the edges and outlines of the discharge print become less sharp, and eventually the plates need to be replaced.

The custom wabash ordered by TCB this time might be a bit too flashy if the outlines of the hearts and paws are too crisp. However, we've given it a subtly playful look from the start, so we hope you'll see this as another cool and cute point.

At first glance, it seems cheap, but it's a labor-intensive specification.

After making it and even visiting the factory, I wondered if the Stifel Company's fabric production method ultimately disappeared because it was too labor-intensive. The fact that Sanyo Senko was able to produce it using the same method even now fills me with gratitude. I hesitated to print on the back of the fabric due to cost considerations, but in the end, I was so excited that there are cats instead of boots. It doesn't matter once you wear it, but you see it every time you put it on. That might be one of the charms of this fabric.

*Stifel Company was an American textile company that developed wabash fabric.

On the back of Stifel Company's fabric, there is a logo with the company name "Stifel" inside a boot-shaped pattern. The details of the Chore Coat itself, like the Denim, are based on vintage Carhartt from the 1940s-1950s, but with reference to various materials, it is made to evoke the atmosphere of the 1920s to match the MASTER CLOTH name and heart buttons and historical evidence.

For example, the following are details typical of the 1920s:

・Square collar with a seam in the center

・Change buttons attached with eyelets

・Adjustable first button and cuffs

・Set-in sleeves with low sleeve caps, also replicated in TWO CATS BLOUSE, etc.

■Sizing

The sizing is different from denim jackets, with coveralls having a larger fit. If you choose the same size as your TCB denim jacket, it will be quite large.

■Notes

Both the front buttons and cuff buttons are change button specifications. Since their durability is lower than regular buttons, we recommend removing the buttons when washing. In the event of damage or loss, we do have replacement buttons in stock, but they will be provided for a fee. We appreciate your understanding.
