SEAMENS Jumpers are based on a vintage 40's USN DECK JKT owned by TCB.
The sewing threads are produced by selecting different counts and colors for each area.
The silhouette is based on vintage clothing, but we have made the width and sleeves slightly tighter without destroying the vintage atmosphere, aiming for a silhouette that can be worn today.
The pockets are made with double chain stitching, and the bar sewn around the opening of the pocket, which is subject to stress, is roughly sewn based on the original.
The back of the hem has a stencil applied by hand.
The custom-made resin change buttons are shiny at first, but the shine gradually fades and eventually they take on an appearance that is no different to the original.
Although it may be a hassle, removing it when washing will help it last longer.
The buttonholes are made with genuine buttons and are sewn using a SINGER99, a rare sewing machine of which only a few are currently in operation.
The fabric used is 10oz denim with natural unevenness, rather than the currently mainstream computer-controlled uneven yarn.
We don't use selvedge in our products, but we do use selvedge fabric woven on a power loom.
We use pre-dyed grey thread for the sewing, as the garment is designed to withstand heavy wear.
