At first glance, it looks the same as the one we made before, but...
The fabric, factory, sewing thread, label, and tape are all different.
The main body fabric is No. 4 canvas. We intentionally chose fabric without selvage. This is because, previously, we were so particular about selvage that it could "only be made at this specific weaving mill." In fact, that original mill has already gone out of business.
This time, the premise was that "the fabric can be stably sourced without selvage." On top of that, we aimed for something better than selvage.
The problem then was the sides. If we don't use selvage, we can only "fold" or "overlock and sew." Folding and sewing is naturally neater, but the sewing difficulty is incomparably higher.
So, we searched and searched and found a factory in the town next to my father's hometown. The president there loves sewing machines and trumpet-shaped attachments, and we hit it off. Because of that, we can confidently rely on them. (Though the labor cost is quite high)
This folded part of the side acts as a bone, allowing the bag to stand on its own even when empty. A tote is much easier to use when it can stand independently.
The bottom part is No. 6. Adding a joint in the middle creates a design accent. Originally, with a narrower fabric, we intentionally left the detail of using selvage for the triangular part (though we're told it's "hard and difficult! And costs a lot!").
The sewing thread is thick polyester. It's surface-coated to prevent untwisting.
The label also looks the same at first glance. But in the past, it was printed on sheeting, and this time, it's printed on coated fabric. The pattern is much sharper.
For the tape, we searched and searched and found a manufacturer. When we went and talked to them, they had a "cotton-spun power loom tape" that was incredibly hard and incredibly thick. This same-width tape also comes from power looms and other types of looms, and the power loom tape is particularly thick. However, productivity is poor, and if there's no stock, you have a very long wait. But it's worth waiting for this tape. WORKERS has also ordered a larger stock. (Black dye is currently in production)
By meeting a new factory, it's different from before. We aimed for the highest quality possible now.

The long-awaited return of the tool bag!
I've been using the old model for many years, and there have been no problems at all except for the handles getting frayed and worn out.
I've also repaired several handles for customers who cherish their bags. It's a bag you want to keep using, even if it needs repairs.
Of course, the detailed specifications differ from the old model, but the actual product that arrived this time can definitely be used as a tough tool bag again.
Sturdy fabric, stitching with thick thread, rugged handles. "Yes, this is it!" I couldn't help but smile.
It's also a very easy-to-use bag in terms of size. I immediately started using it to carry my laptop, documents, patterns, unfinished samples, and all sorts of other things that I inexplicably end up carrying around every day!
