I still often wear the lounge jacket I made for Spring/Summer 2020, even though it's been a while since I made it. The difference between the Fall/Winter lounge jacket and the Spring/Summer version is the front facing (the part with the holes). While the Fall/Winter version isn't sewn to the body, the Spring/Summer version is completely sewn to the body. It instantly looks like a "coverall," but because the facing is firmly attached, I can throw it in the washing machine without worrying and wear it casually. The Spring/Summer 2020 version had four pockets and, unlike the current one, a pattern with a significant twist in the sleeves. I'd always wanted to make a design with three pockets and less twist in the sleeves, and this season I finally managed to complete it. However, after making the blazer, I realized later that I had two tailored jackets! As expected of a mediocre MD, my hobby is in full bloom. The material is 10 oz. Navy Khaki. It's a navy version of the USMC Khaki used in the Officer Trousers. The Indigo Herringbone/WKS Covert is a pair with the Officer Trousers. Of course, it can also be taken apart and used as a sports coat. Indigo herringbone has indigo warp and off-white weft. Because the warp and weft threads are thick and thin, the overall indigo appears stronger. As a result, the pattern isn't very clear. It's supple to the touch, and even though it's 100% cotton, it has a slight stretch. WKS Covert is a fabric woven with black-dyed/light gray-dyed warp threads and black-dyed weft threads. It's cotton, which I love, but it looks wool-like. I like the muted color tones of wool fabric, but I can't help but feel drawn to its American casual roots. I love fabrics that replicate that style in cotton. However, it's very expensive to make, so there's almost no ready-made fabric available.
The above is reprinted from the WORKERS catalog.
This jacket is more streamlined than a denim jacket or coverall, is washable, easy to wear, and fades beautifully, so we recommend it.
It can be worn with jeans, chinos, or military-style pants. It has no lining and can be worn for many seasons.
