I apologize for the sporadic information,
Recently, TCB has been working on a new challenge: rethinking coveralls not as fashion, but as clothing that can be chosen for a specific purpose.
I'd like you to imagine this: if you were to go shopping for coveralls to wear as work clothes, you would choose the color and material according to the purpose.
I'm sure the coveralls from the 1920s and 1930s
It must have contained such obvious choices and ideas.
Thinking about this, I wanted to recreate the width of the workwear of that era at TCB.
Recently, we have been trying to expand our lineup horizontally.
And today we'd like to introduce a new colorway of Cathartt made with herringbone denim.
Herringbone is a fabric that creates a pattern to hide dirt.
Its distinctive feature is its natural striped appearance. While you can still find off-white and olive military fabrics, indigo-dyed herringbone denim is suddenly rare.
When new, it has a somewhat elegant atmosphere,
The more you wear it, the clearer the pattern becomes.
It will show "changes over time that you can't get with regular denim."
More than regular denim,
Take a little time to wash it down and get used to it...
I think this kind of relationship is unique to this fabric and is wonderful.
The production that was started this winter has been commercialized all at once.
We hope that you will find one that suits your needs.
------------------------------------------------------------------
When starting a new project at TCB,
Some of you may know that many of my projects begin with an encounter with a vintage item. These include things I used to look at through a glass window as a boy, things I'd only ever seen in magazines, or special vintage items worn by actors on TV, all of which I acquired under the pretext of "recovering something I'd longed for in the past."
Or, as is the case with Viktors Voice, they borrow special pieces that you wouldn't even find in a thrift store and start creating.
And this time, I'll decline first.
We started without having come across the perfect source material for sampling.
I have a heart button and a pair of MASTER CLOTH overalls from the same era.
The reason is simple: it's a jacket I've always wanted to make.
I came up with the word Cathartt a few years ago.
Of course, when you do that, you have to press the heart button!
The fabric and MASTER CLOTH name were inspired by vintage overalls. The warp threads are a no. 7 thread count, with a subtle natural unevenness, and the weft threads are a thin no. 16 thread count, with a slightly lower number of stitches.
By making the weft thinner than the warp threads, the unevenness of the warp threads is clearly visible, resulting in a fabric that has a clear vertical fading even with 10oz 2x1 denim.
The color is made from 100% synthetic indigo with no additives.
The number of dyeings has been reduced compared to XX DENIM from the 1920s, resulting in a brighter color.
*For those who already own a TCB coverall but are wondering what the fabric feels like in this one: It's a little softer than the Tabby's Jacket, and the blue is closer. The twill weave is easy to see for a 2*1, and the unevenness of the warp threads is visible to the naked eye, so you can expect a rough, vintage-like color fade compared to the Black Cat Jacket or Tabby's Jacket.
What happened to the bass in CHORE COAT?
I own two vintage Carhartt items from the 1940s and 1950s.
Based on the silhouette of the CHORE COAT, we have taken into consideration various sources to create a 1920s atmosphere that matches the MASTER CLOTH name, heart buttons, and historical accuracy.
Square collar with center hem, eyelet-attached change buttons, adjustable first button and cuffs, set-in sleeves
The low sleeve cap is also reproduced in the Two Cats Blouse.
When I actually encounter Vintage in the future, there may be some differences from my imagination.
A reverse version of a sci-fi movie depicting the future. CATHARTT CHORE COAT, made to depict the past.
In the future, when we get a time machine, I'll wear this coat and go back to the 1920s.
I'm looking forward to seeing if they'll find out that I'm from the future.
■Notes Both the front buttons and cufflinks are changeable buttons. They are less durable than regular buttons, so we recommend removing the buttons before washing.
In the event of damage or loss, we have buttons in stock, but please understand that replacements will be available at an additional cost.
The above is reprinted from the TCB official website
Lately TCB has been a Carverall festival lol
Which one should I choose? It's a difficult decision, but it seems that many people are interested in this herringbone pattern.
The fabric is a little thick, so it can be used right away, and I'm looking forward to seeing the unique fading of the herringbone pattern.
