For longtime customers of WORKERS, the tool bag, a nostalgic item, is finally back!

Main body: No. 4 canvas / approx. 23.5 oz
Bottom: No. 6 canvas / approx. 19 oz

Size
Width at base: approx. 31 cm, Height: 30 cm, Depth: 18 cm.
The width tapers towards the top, so the opening is a maximum of approx. 40 cm.

Handle length
Short: 25 cm
Long: 60 cm (shoulder length)

One outer pocket on one side.

At first glance, it looks the same as the one I made before, but...
The fabric, factory, sewing thread, label, and tape are all different.

The main body is No. 4 canvas. I intentionally chose fabric without selvage. Previously, I was so particular about the selvage that it could only be made at a specific weaving factory. In fact, that initial factory has already gone out of business.

This time, the premise was that "the fabric can be stably sourced without selvage." On top of that, I aimed for something even better than selvage.

The problem then was the side seams. If I don't use selvage, I can only "fold" or "overlock and sew." Folding and sewing is naturally neater, but the difficulty of sewing is on a completely different level.

So, I searched and searched and found a factory in the town next to my father's hometown. The president there loves sewing machines and "rappa" (a type of sewing machine attachment), and we got along well. Because of that, I can confidently entrust them with the work. (Though the labor cost is quite high)

The folded side part acts as a bone, allowing the bag to stand on its own even without contents. A tote bag that stands on its own is always easier to use.

The bottom part is No. 6. The seam in the middle adds a design accent. Originally, it was a narrow fabric, and I intentionally left the design idea of using selvage for the triangular part (though I'm told it's hard and expensive!).

The sewing thread is a thick count polyester. It's surface-coated to prevent twisting.

The label also looks the same as before at first glance. But previously it was printed on sheeting, and this time it's printed on coated fabric. The pattern appears much crisper.

For the tape, I searched and searched and found a manufacturer. I immediately went to talk to them and discovered they had an "extra-stiff, extra-thick cotton spun tape made on a power loom." For this same width of tape, there are power looms and other looms, and the power loom produces particularly thick tape. However, productivity is poor, and if there's no stock, you have to wait a very long time. But for this tape, it's worth the wait. WORKERS has also ordered a larger stock. (Black dyeing is currently in production)

Meeting a new factory has made it different from before. I aimed for the highest quality possible with what I can make now.

The above is an excerpt from the WORKERS HP.

The long-awaited return of the tool bag!

I've been using the old version for many years, and other than the handles getting worn out, there have been no problems at all.

I've also repaired several handles for customers who love them. It's a bag you want to keep using, even if it needs repairs.

The detailed specifications are, of course, different from the old version, but the actual product that arrived this time is definitely usable as a tough tool bag.

Sturdy fabric, thick-count stitching, robust handles. "Yes, this is it," I thought, and couldn't help but smile.

It's also a very easy-to-use bag size. I immediately started using it to carry my laptop, documents, patterns, unfinished samples, and all the other things I somehow end up carrying with me every day!
