After that, a discharge print process is used, where a discharge agent is applied with a cylinder to remove the color, and then a beige dye is printed over it. To apply beige to the discharged white heart pattern, the resulting hearts have a slightly blurred outline.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEven with vintage Wabash fabrics, you sometimes see Wabash with blurred outlines. As these printing plates are used, the edges and outlines of the discharge print become softer, and eventually, the plates need to be replaced.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Wabash that TCB specially ordered might be a bit too flashy if the outlines of the hearts and paws were too crisp. However, we've intentionally given it a slightly whimsical look from the start, so we hope you'll consider this another cool and cute point.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt first glance, it might seem cheap, but it's a specification that requires a lot of effort.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter making it and even touring the factory, I wondered if Stifel's fabric manufacturing method might have disappeared simply because it was too labor-intensive. I am nothing but grateful to Sanyo Senko for being able to produce it using the same method even today. Considering the cost, I hesitated to print on the back of the fabric, but in the end, I was so excited that there are cats instead of boots. This time, as with the Black Bear, Strong Hold, and Boss of the Road that I've created in the past, it features an asymmetrical design, though not as pronounced. The most captivating point was the adorable, slightly funny duck face. I've always loved vintage animal logos, such as the bulldog in Boss of the Road, the chicken in Can't Bust'em, the bear in Black Bear, and the pig in Finks; the list goes on, but they are all charming. To recreate this atmosphere, I had the design redrawn many times, changing the original's funny duck to a cat. As a result, the cat on this tag turned out wonderfully, making the two-pronged snap buttons on the chest and the dome-shaped tack buttons on the sleeves also cute while replicating the vintage feel. The buttons on the placket reproduce the pear-skin texture found on vintage counterparts. This rough texture prevents slipping and makes them easy to attach and detach. My managing director and I were racking our brains over this process, but when I consulted Mr. Tateno from Workers, a fellow veteran, he told me that he had created a trumpet two years ago when he made a Payday-inspired piece. I took advantage of his kind offer, \"You're welcome to use it at TCB,\" and the fact that the collar stands of Payday and Duck Head are interchangeable. What we can learn from this is that what we considered a design was actually a byproduct born from the convenience of the sewing machine, considered from a manufacturing perspective.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eAt TCB, when making coveralls, we make the length slightly shorter than vintage ones to balance them easily even when worn with full denim. Since it has raglan sleeves, it does not feel restrictive even when worn just right, and the range of motion of the arms is wide. For the fabric, we were particular about every detail, from the uneven yarn shape to the color and dyeing method, based on vintage pieces. Recently, instead of expressing unevenness with a single count of yarn, we choose to mix different yarns and vary the unevenness shape of each. Specifically, for the warp, we use straight yarn of count 8 and yarn with short slubs of count 9 in a 1:1 ratio. For the weft, we use natural slub yarn of count 12 and nep yarn of count 12, also in a 1:1 ratio. As a result, four types of yarn are used, creating a vintage atmosphere. The dyeing was also done in a shallow color characteristic of store brands. Instead of a shallow warp, the weft is dyed gray instead of ecru. The buttons on the placket have the same matte finish as the Vintage designs. The rough texture makes them less slippery and easier to put on and take off. We found ourselves attracted to those words.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA cabaret = a place of expression.\u003cbr\u003eOn the other hand, a prisoner's uniform = a symbol of restriction and rules.\u003cbr\u003eThis combination of conflicting images felt very much like TCB.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eObserving the vintage prisoner's uniform we actually got our hands on was truly interesting. The world of workwear is always accompanied by \"efficiency for sales\" and \"the battle against cost,\" but this prisoner's uniform was fundamentally **\"clothing not intended for sale.\"**\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe seams were neither felled seams nor overlocked.\u003cbr\u003eThey were simply joined from the back, sewn only with a plain seam.\u003cbr\u003eWe pondered how TCB should make it, but this time, we intentionally followed suit and made it with only plain seams, allowing the seam allowances to fringe. This time, rather than faithfully recreating the vintage Cathead with a lining, I wanted to cherish the Cathead series itself. I haven't actually found a vintage Cathead with a lining, and I don't even know if they exist. Still, this project started with a fantasy: \"What if Cathead had a lining?\" While typically with a lining, only the collar is made of corduroy, this time I used corduroy for the cuffs and flap, inspired by a certain vintage piece. I also chose a green color instead of the standard brown. Specifically, for the warp alone, we used a 1:1 ratio of 8-count straight yarn and 9-count short uneven yarn. For the weft, we used a 1:1 ratio of 12-count naturally uneven yarn and a 12-count nep-like yarn. The result, using four different yarns, is a vintage look. We also had the fabric dyed in a lighter shade, typical of store brands. The lighter warp yarn offsets the weft, which is dyed gray rather than off-white. This approach stems from the idea that some fabrics focused on dark warp colors to hide stains, while many fabrics used gray weft yarns to create a darker appearance and hide stains.
