tcb-jeans_cat-head-beanie
TCB Jeans_Katzenkopfmütze

Last year, I went to meet Victor, who is also well known from Viktor's Voice, in the winter.
The WWII-era USN Watch Cap was a must-have for the cold Swedish winters. I had always thought that this would be the one to make at TCB, but it wasn't something that could be made at TCB, so it never happened.

On a slightly different note, we occasionally receive requests to make special off-white or white jeans for TCB. While we think, "It would be nice to have at least one model...", it has proven difficult to make happen. The reason is that the factories that normally weave TCB fabric use old power looms to weave denim. Indigo is attractive because of its fading, but of course, when weaving, indigo dust flies around the machine, and the blue stains, so the machine is now dedicated to denim, which makes it difficult to make happen. This is the same reason why it is difficult to make a knit cap that fades in indigo.

However, just this year, a hat factory we do business with contacted us and said, "We've built a hat loom specifically for indigo-dyed yarn. We'd love for you to make a knit cap with us that fades." So we created the Cat Head Beanie, based on Viktor's WW2 Cap.

It even comes with a fitting name, "Cat Head," and is secured with orange bar tacks, in keeping with the jeans factory tradition. You can wear it folded in half to wear it short, or on cold days you can fold it once to cover your ears, making it a beanie that is truly in keeping with the jeans factory tradition of TCB.

TCB staff wear denim sets all year round, so you can easily tell who's wearing what model they're wearing, but it's interesting to see how each of us expresses our individuality through the fading of the denim as well as our headgear - for example, I wear a hat, the factory manager wears a beret, and Ryo wears a beanie. (Now, the Beret and Beanie are TCB made. I hope that one day we can make a TCB model of hat as well...)

The color will fade just like denim, so why not enjoy the changes over time by combining it with jeans!

100% Cotton
One Washed
Indigo Dyed

The above is reprinted from the TCB official website

This 100% cotton beanie is loosely knitted with thick yarn. There are two rows with fewer stitches, so you can fold or turn it over there.

You can wear it with the Cat Head tag showing, or roll it up twice and wear it like a roll cap. It's a knit cap that you can enjoy in a variety of ways.
